This fall, we're very excited to partner with two of Spain’s top national team players to bring one of our programs to Jaca. Working with Alejandro Carbonell and Adrian Ubieto, we've put together an elite-level program designed to help young players grow and develop.

The city of Jaca is welcoming and beautiful -- a world-class destination in the foothills of the Pyrenees offering opportunities for amazing outdoor experiences, great food, historic architecture and more. All sessions will take place at the the Jaca Ice Pavilion, a state-of-the-art facility that's recognized as one of the best in Europe.

In addition to Alejandro and Adrian, the instructors for this program bring many years of hockey experience to the ice, several in the National Hockey League (NHL). We'll focus on each player's game, working on skating, skill, and overall hockey sense. Our methods are progressive and include cutting-edge training models off the ice that translate to on-ice performance. 

​

Each day will consist of a full session dedicated to our skating and skill development system with Program Director Toby O'Brien. The second daily session will be conducted by our staff of elite-level coaches on the fundamentals of the game and team play. A full off-ice fitness program will be implemented as well as video analysis of each player to assist in the learning process. Specialized goaltending instruction is also included.

TOBY O'BRIEN

With over 23 years of professional hockey experience, Toby has served as a head coach, general manager, development coach, and NHL scouting director for teams including the New York Islanders, Buffalo Sabres, and Florida Panthers. He currently serves as the skating and development coach with Timrå IK in Sweden and is certified as a USA Hockey/IIHF master level coach.

MATT BERTANI

Matt brings 13 years of pro coaching experience to the program, including 10 years as a coach with the New York Islanders. Currently a coach with the South Korean Men's National Team, Matt is also a USA Hockey/IIHF master level coach.

ALEJANDRO CARBONELL & ADRIAN UBIETO

Both members of the Spanish National Team, Alejandro and Adrian have professional playing experience in Spain and France. Both players have recently completed their degrees in Exercise/Sports Science.

CHAD O'BRIEN

Chad currently serves as the Hockey Director in Sun Valley, Idaho where he plays for the Sun Valley Suns. A former NCAA player, Chad played in Jaca after earning his Exercise Science degree. He also has experience working with the sports performance department of the Buffalo Sabres.
