COLLEGE HOCKEY INVITATIONAL — RIGA

AUGUST 11-18, 2024

A partnership with Ice Tyme, the College Hockey Invitational series is a unique opportunity to showcase the incredible student athletes involved with NCAA Division II and III athletics across the country. Its purpose is to provide lifetime experiences to these athletes through the game of hockey, both domestically and internationally.

A second major goal of the series is to promote the participating institutions — the education, level of play, and limitless possibilities that are available to the student athletes of these great schools, while bringing families, players, staff, and alumni together.

In Riga, a full week-long tour will be part of the international experience for Vermont State University-Castleton and Milwaukee School of Engineering. In partnership with the Riga Hockey Cup and the Latvian Hockey Federation, the teams have a full week of training, touring, and exchanges to give the athletes a full feel of the city.

The week will culminate with a first-of-its-kind President's Cup tournament featuring NCAA Division II and III teams and hosted by the Latvian Hockey Federation. Similar in format to USA Hockey's World Junior Team summer camp, the two NCAA clubs will play two teams representing Latvia’s Under 20 National Team as they prepare for the World Junior Championships, in addition to Austria's Under 20 National Team and a representative from Finland. They will meet for games in a round robin setting, with placement games and the championship being hosted on Sunday, August 18.
